Red Mass is a centuries-old religious service seeking God's guidance and blessing for those working in the administration of justice and government service. Each year during Red Mass the executive board of the Catholic Lawyers Guild presents the Law and Spirituality Award. This year, Bishop Emeritus Felipe Estévez was presented with the honor by Catholic Lawyers Guild President, Bryan Gowdy, who said ". . . we honor our award recipient for bringing the light of the Gospel into the sometimes dark places of the legal and government sectors." Bishop Erik Pohlmeier was the principal celebrant for this year's annual Red Mass; you can listen to his homily here.
